What about backing up Avid Media Composer sessions? Media Composer has a unique file management structure in that all audio and video imported into a session is converted to a format (MXF) that Avid can read, in a file folder in the root of the drive called Avid MediaFiles > MXF > 1 (the “1″ can be renamed to a file name with a reference to the project to keep things somewhat organized). The sessions themselves are in a different location, to be defined by the user (public, private or external). It’s easy to mess up the location of assets (or rendered effects) which are then offline. Will Gobbler have a facility to back up the entire session, including all underlying media files?
